Bringing together internationally acclaimed performers and artists from across Canada, this collaborative project features Calgary-based Mysterium Duo (Sir N. Antonio Peruch and Penny Sanborn on accordions), alongside the dynamic Vaughan String Quartet (Vladimir Rufino, Mattia Berrini, Fabiola Amorim, Silvia Buttiglione), with members from Edmonton and Montreal.
The program highlights original music by Canadian composer Kristin Flores, paired with live visual artwork by Ontario-based Sir Antonio Caruso, a distinguished artist known for his fresco, frescografia, and sculptural works exhibited in Canada and internationally, creating a multi-disciplinary experience that bridges sound and image.
Together, these artists bring extensive national and international performance experience, having appeared in major concert halls, festivals, broadcast performances, and collaborative projects across Canada, Europe, and beyond. United by a shared commitment to expressive artistry and innovation, they present a compelling exploration of contemporary and classical traditions.
Their program spans centuries and styles, bringing together the Renaissance polyphony of Pierluigi da Palestrina, a contemporary work by Kristin Flores, and the vibrant tangos of Astor Piazzolla.
This project is supported by the Canada Council for the Arts.
